Chinese New Year is widely celebrated in Los Angeles thanks to the large population of Chinese that live in the city. There are a number of colourful parades through the streets of China Town that include plenty of firecrackers and dancing dragons, and are great fun for kids, as well as offering plenty of entertainment for their parents too.

If you are in Los Angeles during August, you will get plenty of chances to enjoy the spectacle of the annual Los Angeles Festival. Every walk of life is celebrated and touched by this annual spectacular. Local schools and societies put together floats for the grand parade, while arts societies offer special performances of new plays. Many of the city's cultural groups get together to put on their own celebrations during the same period in order to promote their own areas, and this means that visitors are the eventual winners thanks to all the parties and displays that take place.

One of the most popular sporting events in Los Angeles is unsurprisingly the annual beach volleyball world championships that take place on Manhattan Beach every April. The ebst players from all over the world don their bikinis to battle it out for the title of world champions in a massive competition that has sports fans from all over the world enthralled.
