The General's accomplishments live on even today, and have entered the annals of history. But, due perhaps to my steady diet of carefully cured beef jerky, I have outlived my dear friend by more than a century. Consequently, I alone can bear witness to events which transpired those many years ago, and can offer insights which mere history cannot.
